The clinical manifestatiions and development of pathological changes of lumbar hyperosteogeny
Clinical manifestations of lumbar hyperosteogeny:Clinically ache, pain, stiffness, tiredness and limitation of bending will attack lumbar and the soft tissues surrounding waist. If the neighbouring nerve root is compressed, some corresponding symptoms will appear, such as localized pain, stiffness, ache and pain of dorsal root ganglion, etc. Once the sciatic nerve is compressed, sciatic neuritis will appear, some demonstrations will also occur at the affected limbs and these feelings will radiate to the whole lower affected limbs, such as sharp numb pain, burning pain, string pain and spasm, etc.
The pathological development of lumbar hyperosteogeny are as follows:
1. In chronological order, the pathological development of lumbar hyperosteogeny can be divided into three stages:
First stage:latent period. In fact, the hyperplasia has existed, and the height and length of the hyperplasia location is merely about 1 mm to 2mm.At that stage,it will not affect the activities of people and people themselves can not feel it,or they may have some unnoticeable feelings. Therefore, lumbar hyperosteogeny can hardly catch people’s attention in the latent period, and this period will last for 1 to 2 years.
Second stage:latent period. The length of lumbar hyperosteogeny is more than 5mm,and it will affect people’s activities obviously. When the hyperplasia attack left intervertebral disc, human body will lean and bend to the left, and the left limbs will have the feeling of ache, pain and numbness. And vice versa. Some normal people may have some above-mentioned symptoms, and this explained that some nerves were compressed for long time.If the patient can’t get the root treatment in this period, the pain will last for a long time and even will affect normal activities of patient. This period will last for many years or till the third period.
Third stage:paralysis and dyskinesia period. In general, locations of hyperosteogeny is numerous and the length of hyperplasia is above 10mm.The patient can’t get sound treatment and will result in paralysis and walking difficulty. This situation is rare in clinical treatment.
