Symptoms and signs

Five symptoms determine whether it is a strok

According to the statistics of experts, there are more than 40 kinds of symtoms and signs of cerebrovascular. They mainly can be  concluded into five categories:
     1.Dizziness and headache
The normal people may have dizziness and headache resulted from tiredness of work or insomnia. It seems that it doesn’t pertain to the special symptoms and signs of cerebrovascular disease. How to determine it is a stroke?
In general, the nature and feeling of headache are different from the common ones, the degree of ache is worse, and the intermittent headache transfers into persistent headache. If the headache is in certain position, it may indicate cerebral hemorrhage or subarachnoid hemorrhage. Dizziness and headache have relation with the fluctations of blood pressure.
A 45 years old patient had a persistent headache for 5 days, and also has the symptom of nausea and vomitting. The cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) test had confirmed that it is a subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Another 61 years old retired worker had a headache for 3 days before he went to the doctors. When he was putting on his shoes the third morning, he felt dizzy and fainted on the ground. He was diagnosed as hypertensive cerebral haerrhage.
2.The failure of motor nerve function
This is the most common sign. The short supply of cerebral blood leads to the failure of neurological movement function.
The common signs are: sudden deviation of mouth, slobber, difficulty with speech, slurred speech, aphasia, improper expression, difficulty with swallowing, weakness or failure movement of one side limbs, failure of holding things, unstable walking or sudden falling, contracture or spasm of limbs.
A 54 years old worker, who is working, suddenly felt the failure movement of his right arm, difficulty of holding things and weekness in right leg. After four days, he had the following symptoms: sudden complete failure movement of his right limbs, vomitting and slurred speech. He was diagnosed as cerebral thrombosis.
    3.The failure of sensory function
Short supply of cerebral blood affected the analyzing region, sensory organ and sensory nerve fibre.
Common symptoms: numbness of face, tongue, and one side limbs, foreign body sensation, dim vision, sudden bliness, sudden spinning sensation, spontaneous pain in limbs, sudden tingle and dysacousis, etc.
    4.The abnormaity of consciousness
If you feel dizzy and sleepy all the time not because of overwork,it is the signs of short supply of blood. Some patients will demonstrate insomnia, change of characters,(such as unsocial and eccentric, reticent, talkative and impatient.)transient loss of consciousness or interllectual deterioration, even loss of normal judgement. These symptoms all relate with short of cerebral blood supply.
     5.The vegetative nerve functional disturbance
Due to pathological changes of cerebrovascular diseases and fluctation of blood pressure, and cerebral blood supply, they may have the symptoms of vegetative nerve functional disturbance, such as weekness of the body, abnormal sweating due to general debility, low fever, palpitation, sense of suppression in the chest, hiccup, nausea and vomiting, etc.
In addition to the 5 categories above, a few people have the symptom of nasal bleeding, conjunctival hemorrhage, excluding pathological changes of nasal diseases, such as the conjunctiva inflammation, small blood vessel hemorrhage. Retinal haemorrhage tested through fundoscopy often predict cerebrovascular diseases. All these symptoms are related with the fluctations of blood pressure, short supply of cerebral blood supply and changes of blood constituent. Generally speaking, dizziness and headache are the most common symptoms of ischemic cerebrovascular disease.
