Nine emergency measures for a sudden stroke
A stroke is also called cerebrovascular accident or cerebral apoplexy. It is caused by cerebrovascular pathological changes.The clinical menifestations are:sudden dizzy of the head and dim of sight,abrupt faint,physical paralysis,distortion or mouth and eyes,aphasia and coma,etc. Once the above mentioned circumstances appeared, we should adopt measures to protect the patient, in order to prevent the situation worsen.
First, determine whether it is a stroke. The stroke is often induced by high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, etc. We should consider stroke firstly, if the patient have the above-mentioned symptoms and diseases.
Second, make home care well. The stroke is divided into ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. No matter what kind of stroke you are attacked, you must take the following actions before the doctor comes. We should keep the environment quiet and the patent’s mood stable, otherwise, the noisy environment will make the patient feel nervous. This can elevate the patient’s blood pressure and accelerate the heartbeat, then the situation will go worse.
Third, lift the head to about 30 degree to avoid aggravating the bleeding. The asphyxia resulted from blocking the airway by the foreign matter such as cerebral edema and sputum, vomit.
Fourth, repose motionless and minimize moving. Don’t shake the patient’s head because he did not respond you.
Fifth, in order to maintain the patient’s ventilation volume enough, loose the tight clothing such as tie.
Sixth,in case of aggravating head bleeding, we should maintain relative stability of head whether we move him or pat his back.
Seventh, do not give the patient sugar water, because people’s glucose is significantly higher than normal in stress state. If he have sweets, the glucose will elevate in a great degree, even the diabetic ketoacidosis will occur.
Eighth, set ice bad on the head, for the sake of reducing the consumption of the oxygen and protecting brain cells.
Nineth, when go to the hospital, you had better use stretcher or wood bed to carry the patient steadily. Do not carry him yourself.
