What causes a stroke?

The causes of stroke are diversiform and complicated. Conclusively, they all have close relationship with the increase of blood lipid and blood viscosity. Risk factors of stroke include following:

1. Arteriosclerosis is the most important cause of stroke. 70% stroke patients have a history of arteriosclerosis. What’s more, hypterlipidemia is one of the main causes, too.

2. Hypertension is the most important and common cause of stroke. 93% cerebral hemorrhage patients have a history of hypertension.

3. Cerebrovascular congenital abnormal is the common cause of subarachnoid hemorrhage and cerebral hemorrhage.

4. Heard disease such as endocarditis which could possible lead to the formation of mural thrombus. And bradycardia may cause insufficiency of cerebral blood supply.

5. Among all the metabolic diseases, diabetes has the closest relationship with stroke. 30%to 40% stroke patients have diabetes at the same time.

The type of onset of stroke is acute and sudden, but the pathological process is slow. During this period, the inducing factors accelerate the changing process suddenly, and stroke happens. The inducing factors of stroke include following:

1. Bad mood such as anger or emotion excitation.

2. Improper diet such as engorgement or drinking.

3. Excessive tired, overstrain, excessive exercise and position changes (e.g. arising suddenly or get up)

4. Climate change, pregnant, constipation, watching TV for too long, excessive cerebrate and so on.

5. Various other diseases: diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hemophilia, heart disease, high blood viscosity, bradycardia and angiosclerosis.

6. Improper medicine taking (e.g. improper taking of hypertensor)
