Differential Diagnosis
How to judge it is a stroke?
In order to diagnose whether it is a stroke, we need to know the patient’s disease history in detail, and make a detail physical examination for the patient. Apart from these, it is necessary to do some assistant examinations.
The diagnosis of the cerebrovascular disease patients include the following points:
1. The location of the disease: we can judge the location of the disease due to the symptoms of the patient, such as cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem, etc. The symptoms vary with the location of pathological changes.According to the symptoms and signs of the patients,we can tell the pathological changes is diffuse or limited, central or surrounding. The pathological changes in cerebrum demonstrated as the paralysis of tongue, face and limbs, and hemianopia. The pathological changes in cerebellum mainly manifested as dizziness, unstable standing, and nystagmus, etc. The pathological changes in brain stem is very complex, and the symptoms mainly are crossed paralysis, distortion of mouth, and hypesthesia. We can make sure the concrete location of pathological changes through cerebral CT images.
2. The nature of disease: we need to make sure it is a ischemic stroke or a hemorrhagic stroke, because the therapy method of these two kind of diseases are quite different.
3. The diagnosis of the etiology: connected with the above-mentioned two points,we can find the concrete cause of the disease. According to the recent studies, the cerebrovascular diseases are mainly caused by high blood pressure and cerebral arteriosclerosis. The changes of blood components and hypercoagulative state of blood can lead to the cerebral infarction death. The diseases, such as erebral aneurysm, encephalic dngioma, cerebrovascular malformation and arteritis, etc. often can lead to cerebral hemorrhage.
