What are the risk factors for stroke?

Several factors identified that increase the risk of stroke. Some risk factors for stroke can be controlled, and some are not.The stroke risk factors that can’t be treated or controlled are as follows:
1.Age,the chances of having a stroke rise with age.
2.Family history of stroke,this increases risk.
3.Prior stroke or TIA,after undergoing a stroke,men have a 42% chance and women have a 24% chance of getting another stroke within 5 years
4.High blood pressure,considered to be the single most important risk factor.
5.Diabetes,should be treated to prevent the onset of complications that increase stroke risk.
6.High cholesterol,leads to clogging of blood vessels.
7.Atrial fibrillation,an irregular heartbeat.
8.Cigarette smoking,damages blood vessel walls,clogs arteries,raises blood pressure,and aggravate heart burden.
9.Alcohol,particularly in excess,is connected with stroke in some research studies. However,recent studies have also proposed that modest alcohol consumption may protect against stroke.
10.Obesity,puts a strain on the entire circulatory system
