This article mainly introduced between men and women, and the symptoms of women stroke is likely to be change of awareness, loss of sense of direction, confusion of ideas and other atypical symptoms. And call for our attention.

Many people are aware of the traditional stroke symptoms include sudden physical paralysis, hemiplegia weakness, loss of peech and vision. However, the stroke symptoms of women and men are quite different. LyndaLisabeth’s studies, who is from the University of Michigan, have shown that women’s symptoms of stroke may appear to be change of awareness, loss of sense of direction, confusion of ideas and other atypical symptoms, so whether a physician or family members should pay special attention to these symptoms.

This study published in the spring of 2009 organized by the International Stroke Conference. The researchers explained that the atypical stroke symptoms include the change of mental status, loss of sense of direction or loss of consciousness. When the patient is hit by stroke, the arterial blood vessels willrupture, and cerebral blood supply problems will appear. At this time there will be a sudden facial paralysis, weakness in limbs and other warnings, which are part of the traditional symptoms of stroke. However, according to large-scale studies, women’s symptoms of stroke vary among different people, which may delay the time of treatment.

Lynda Lisabeth said the research found that 80% of strokes are ischemic stroke patients, there is a type of stroke known as transient ischemic stroke, this stroke is also called mini-stroke, because the symptoms both comes and goes fast.

There are 461 male and female patients participated in the study, the researchers conducted the symptoms are divided into traditional and non-traditional symptoms . The change of mental status is the most common type of non-traditional symptoms. Most of the patients are women, and the reasons are unknown. The researchers warned that non-traditional stroke symptoms may lead to delay in diagnosis and the miss of golden opportunity for treatment. Medical personnel and their families will have to pay attention to that and seek medical treatment as soon as possible if they find that something goes wrong.
Arcticle Source : http://bodycountry.com/stroke/2009/big-difference-between-men-and-women-of-stroke-symptoms.html
